Scented candle
Market Fig

“...Red my tomatoes,...pretty salads, a little bouquet of aromatics for poetry...” the scents and colors swirl on this summer morning. The market square sheltered under its plane trees brings the village together.

The children play, the older ones shout at each other with bursts of laughter and voices. Discreet, they are hidden under their large leaves to be protected from the heat. And yet, without seeing them, everyone knows they are there.

Without them, there is no summer. The one from the South. That of heat. Shiny, chubby, with a red and purple heart, ready to explode with their sugar, their scent dominates. These are the figs. They delight as much as they intimidate with their fragility because they are almost ephemeral. The time of a short season.

Figue du Marché is the revelation. In the background, notes of cedar, benzoin and vanilla will structure a round and barely gourmand base. At its heart, the fig, queen of summer, is revealed, a casual daughter of the sun, playing with the elegance of the hyacinth, more spring-like.

Finally, to conclude this southern signature, a few notes of anise. I can already hear the crickets whispering in my ear. And doze off for a short nap.

Fruity Family
